Midrange gpus

The only reason they are silly money is because enough of you voted with your wallets that it's what you want.

Meh, people have more money to spend then they did 5- 10 years ago? Or, they'd rather spend their disposable cash on gaming than other hobbies perhaps?

The thing is, if you buy an expensive graphics card now, you can just sell it next year or 2023 anyway, and get most or all of your money back (and buy another graphics card if you still want to, but maybe spend a lot less).

The value option this year for gaming, is obviously the Xbox Series S for £250. If you don't have a PC its a good deal, considering you can get 60-120 FPS at 1080p. Add a Gamepass sub (trial for 3 months is just £1) and you are set.

On the other hand, for PC gamers there's a ton of Epic games that are being given away.

If you have a tablet or a basic PC, you can just use xCloud instead, get a trial sub for Gamepass and see how well t works for you. I've tried it and been impressed by the quality and overall performance. It uses upto 15mbps on my PC, so you don't need a really high bandwidth internet connection.

If people are paying current scalper prices for cards I wonder how much they will get back when prices are back to normal or the next gen are out. I would think significantly less than they paid let alone all or most of their money back

I would hope that the 2060 should be £200 at some point in the not too distant future.. entry level.
I hope that too ,with all the cryptomining colapsing in few places and all the batches of 3080 3090 3070 etc dropping on various sites it will bring the prices down eventually ....wont happen overnight but hopefully by x-mas some noticeable re-stocks with more acceptable pricing will start to pop-up

those that paid these prices couldnt care less about halving their card value, if they paying those daft prices money is no object in reality, and if they moan we can all have a good laugh:D

well your not really still in the top 15% performance worldwide

but people like to be elitist
that list may make sense for 4k

but for 1440p 3060ti/3070 i would consider them higher midrange or lower high end...

i think people have exaggerated expectations overall
