Hey,

I have recently found that my AMD MSI 390 Twin frozr is on the frits (Warranty is gone) and i am looking for a placeholder till Navi and proper 7nm cards are out.

I was looking between the https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sapp...express-graphics-card-gx-38r-sp.html#comments or https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sapp...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-37m-sp.html

There is a £23 difference between them and if i remember correctly a 10-12 percent difference in performance.

As for my specs

i5 2500k @ 4.7ghz
vengeance ddr3 1600mhz (2x4gb)
Coolmaster V700
Samsung 1080p monitor at 60hz.

Anyway, i mostly played Witcher 3, BFV and Blizzard titles. I am just curious to suggestions as i can barely game with this graphic's card without worrying about it black screening/hardlocking. >.<

I agree with that can't go wrong with either.

How about upgrading your monitor to 144hz freesync ?

It will be smoother and shutter free gaming

I was going to do that late last year (Sep timeframe) but decided against it as Vega prices weren't as good as they are now and waiting out for Zen 2 plus true next gen g-cards (7nm) for a full system upgrade, including a 4k monitor.

Is there free games with that particular 590? No mention of it on the product page, but is on other 590s.

If it's just a place holder you are after would the MSI RX 570 for £159 do for now?

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-346-ms.html

Well, i read within the product description that it came with 3 games but unlike the other links it's not within the pictures of the product. So, i am not entirely sure... as for the 570. I have been kinda put off MSI cards for AMD ever since i got the 390 and i believe the 570 is slower? Not sure though.

Good to know that it does come with the games.

Just thought the 570 would do for now seeing as you will be replacing it soon.
Cost a lot less, still get 2 free games and would think it should be ok for the screen you have (1080p @ 60hz)

Yeah, i get what you mean. I mean i wouldn't touch an MSI AMD product again but https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sapp...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-38g-sp.html is only £5 more. It ultimately boils down to being able to play maxed out at 1080p 60hz till Navi or when i decide to fully upgrade everything in my system later this year.

So yea, it would ultimately boil down to the two cards within my original post or the one i linked above, i guess. :)
