Midweek Football 21/22 /10/2008 **Spoilers**

Would've taken a draw beforehand so can't complain with that result considering how lucky we were with the officiating. Hopefully we'll do them at Anfield and that'll be us through :)

good result tbh away :) They will p*** it now

Yeah on paper it's a decent result.

But if Keane had sidefooted home that chance in the first half instead of trying some kind of a backheel-volley, I feel you would have gone on to win by 3 or 4.

Hahahaha!

Ronnie Whelan saying on Irish telly that if Robbie Keane had tried that flick back in his day, Graeme Souness would have broke his legs at half time :D

We had the game in the palm of our hands. Atletico where terribly weak and we simply let them find their feet, stride, touch, confidence, bit by bit until they had us on the back foot.

I hope that game doesn't effect the confidence of the team.

Also, I refuse to accept that Keane's initial thought was to flick it. I blame the wind that took it out of his judgment.

If on the other hand he did mean it, then its ******** ****. Nothing else can be said about it really.

From what I saw (10 mins of the second half, just before it went to 1-1) Liverpool were lucky to even be in the game. Incorrect offside decision leading to a disallowed goal, hit the bar and two 1 on 1s.

It was very much a game of 2 halves. We totally dominated the first half and they came back into it in the 2nd. We too had a goal wrongly ruled out in the 2nd half, can't recall them hitting the bar though

edit: Reina did tip one onto the post if that's what you meant (1 of the 1 on 1's).

I was talking to my dad who's just got back off holiday, so wasn't concentrating too much on it. The hit the post when Reina saved it was the one I was thinking of. Just before that (I think) they'd had a very bad decision against them for offside. Even before that I'm pretty sure Sally Gunnell was incorrectly ruled offside.

As I say I didn't see much of the game, it just looked all one sided in that period. The only Liverpool attack I remember was Gerrard having the ball on the right with Keane waiting alone in the middle and Gerrard putting it in the keeper's hands.

Benayoun and Simao both had goals wrongly ruled out in the 2nd half and Forlan was wrongly given offside but Reina saved that anyway. We should have killed the game off in the first half when Gerrard put one on a plate for Keane only for him to try a stupid flick. Babel missed a sitter right at the end too for the win.

edit: Maniche not Simao.
