Midweek Football; 27-28th January - *SPOiLERS*

Lol, boohoo!

Let's just ignore the Rooney elbow attack and Ronaldo lashing out on the ground because he was being shut out of a game by a local lad on less than 10% of his wages. The ref did after all. ;)

Didn't know Wenger posted on these forums.

You can laugh about it but Stoke are filthy and don't deserve to grace the same pitch as most Premiership teams, they aren't interested in a fair game of football and it's a shame, West Brom are giving it a fair and reasonable shot, no reason why Stoke should be so intent on killing football every week.

How would Keane work with Modric and Defoe?

No chance of him coming back imho.... then again I never thought he'd leave in the first place so what do I know?!

I think Keane and Pav would make a good partnership.

Pav is starting to learn how to play in the Premier League, as indicated in a recent Russian interview.

Although, if the Pav/Defoe partnership keeps developing, then I'll be happy enough.

Not happy with Bent though. Would rather have in someone with a little more vision and work rate.

Playing the way we do is no worse than the diving and dramatics that the millionaires at the top perform every week. Thats the killer.

Bow down to the Mighty West Brazilwich albion, their flare and talent on display is immense and its clearly working for them. They play as much hoofball as anybody else.

We're the villains of the league, love us or hate us. I know plenty of people who welcome our style of play to this sterile league, its spiced things up a bit, you can't deny that. ;)

It's not the hoof ball which bothers me, even Liverpool are guilty of that. It's the badly timed, dangerous and aggressive challenges that are unforgiveable. I think Stoke show great team work and are very determined which is a good thing, but at times they are reckless and unnecesserily put other players at risk with silly challenges they really don't need to make ..

I'm only counting 2 red card's this season? (excluding Fuller's when the team decided to implode and give away the 3 points to West Ham) :)

I'd rather have Keane than Defoe but it's too late now and I don't think anyone wants both those two at the same time again?

Modric is a better player than him anyway and he doesn't point and shout all the time ;)

Disagree about Song again, he broke up play well, never stopped running and made some good passes too with very few mistakes.

this is the thing, he runs too much. Parker was a dynamo early season and last year, and almost completely ineffective. by pressuring to much, say charging forwards 10 yards, you leave space behind you, 2 passes and a player is around you and you're behind the game. Parker has improved dramatically in the past 20 games because he runs LESS. Think of Makelele, he doesn't run constantly, he was quite, he stayed where he needed to be, let players run into him by being in the right place and was in the way of all those throughballs. Song should not be getting near the box, shouldn't be running to the wings, its not his place. He's the DM, we were under a HECK of a lot of pressure, against a team with NO STRIKERS, because our midfield is non existant in terms of defence, that is his job and he's completely not doing it.

its supposed to be him staying deep that allows Diaby and the wingers to support but he runs blindly forward thinking he can help offensive, its not what we need. AS much as I don't rate Denilson in the DM position, lately he's actually gotten FAR better at not running fowards and defensively we've improved a lot due to that. less is more in the case of a DM, he's bloody awful at it. Denilson's improving but will never be world class and could have been a world class attacking midfielder in the Fabregas mould. I think we've totally screwed over what could have been a great back up to Fabregas or someone almost as good we could have sold on for 15mil in several years. Now he's an inbetween player whose great at neither. Randall's going the same way unfortunately. :(

As for Adebayor, its ridiculous, the old thing was a big and a small man, with the small man furthest foward to run onto knockdowns by the big guy. Ade rarely does that and as such we can't play a small man infront of him. Crouch and the like is normally used either with a Defoe/small guy ahead, or as a lone striker. Adebayor can't be played either as a lone striker, or a support big man, he's in no way any kind of traditional target man, as he can't play that position.

Largely West Ham have improved because they are so dynamic in attacking. Collison, Behrami, Illunga, Cole, they are all players who get the ball and simply drive forwards, rarely pass back and attack fast on the break. ARsenal have far to many players who like to pass incredibly slowly up the field. 4 years ago we would counter attack better than anyone in maybe the world, certainly the league. THese days few of our goals come from uber quick counter attacks, we've lost an entire dimention to our game. The reason I like Eboue is he's one of the few surviving players from years ago and gets the ball and looks to get forward instantly.

AS you said, Walcott, due to injuries was our best choiceon the right, but even then, he actually had very very few games, I think 50% is being VERY generous. But he's a striker, who we can't play in the Owen role because Adebayor is hopeless as the "big man" striker to knock on to him. Bendtner came on, and played the right wing, and frankly, was much better than Denilson there, he's not a right winger at all but has played there 2/3 times and done an ok job can't really complain about that.

As much as i don't like Eboue on the right hes by far the best option at the moment. Denilson just doesnt have the pace and Diaby is not much use on the right either. Both come too far inside and mean we have no width and a congested middle of the pitch. The worrying thing is that Walcott is by far the best choice and he only performed in 50% of the game he did play in.

Disagree with that strongly. I'm not a fan of Denilson or Diaby as players but both do better jobs out wide than Eboue, who is absolutely useless. How he is still at this football club I'll never know.

Denilson had a few games on the wing a month or so back and did okay. Not great but okay. Eboue, despite playing there plenty, has rarely ever reached an 'okay' level. He's such a limited footballer it's unbelievable. His first touch is offensive, he can't pass or shoot and his off the ball movement is non-existant. He's also terrible on the ball, especially under pressure. He's okay when the ball is played infront of him and he runs on to it with pace but that's it.

Eboue is an abortion.

I said Rooney should have been sent off too. However, your players from the first minute only cared about kicking ours.

I never said you did - I don't know where you got that from. My point is that what you wrote was rather hypocritical. Look within your own house before having a go at somebody else.

You accused me of being hypocritical and have done so again. What makes you say that?

Because I support Liverpool does that automatically mean I condone all the actions of our players? You obviously have assumed it does.

If you want me to spell it out to you, I don't condone diving and it embarrasses me every time one of Liverpool's players do it, so I'm fully entitled to criticise whoever I like for it.

Is that better? Hardly 'one hell of a slip' is it, your attempt at a cheap shot is failure.

Back to the original point, you know what I'm getting at, you should have just stayed with your original post.
