Midweek Football Thread. Champions League. 29/30 *spoliers*

Ronaldos worth in some ways was the way he took poor teams apart at the back. We lack that now but hopefully we will get a more ruthless edge.

Pretty excited about the title race as an Arsenal fan, I don't think that Arsenal will win it with certainty, but I feel this year the team have a better chance than the last few years, also with Rosicky, Nasri and Arsh all fit (maybe one day?) I don't think an injury to Cesc would be as much of a disaster as last year.

Still trying to decide if the Ronaldo penalty and 2nd yellow + red was fair or not. The guy did get the ball, but it was just mental, it feels like it should be a dangerous tackle and was the right decision but its a close call.

Either way, kaka's scored 3, but two were gifted, 2 penalties Ronaldo would have taken but basically, he's scored so much he gave them to Kaka. Kaka, from what I've seen, has looked average, at best. His passing, vision and interplay hasn't been good at all, the one two with Benzema for Ronaldo's second was a good pass but pretty simple aswell. Around the rest of the pitch he looks like he can't cope with the pace of the game at all.

Likewise, Real Madrid were a different team without Diarra, they couldn't hold onto the ball, they were much slower getting forward and they were under pressure quite frequently and didn't look great defensively. He's really turned out to be a superb player, not sure if he was injured or rested for the game, shows how important he is to them though, and, we've got smeg all chance of buying him back ever :p

jakeke, did we actually lose many big games in the time Fabregas was out? I'm honestly not sure but he was around early season and late season for all the big losses at the end, not sure Fabregas's loss was a huge issue. He's a huge player, and our most influencial, I'm just saying I don't think much would have changed had he not been injured last year.

Didn't lose many games without Fab but there were loads of draws and the games were uninspired and boring, totally different Arsenal side when he was out, as you said, it might have been the same with him fit as the team were pretty poor as a whole last season, but this season I can't see him being missed that much if he was out.

Still, that pass to RvP at the weekend shows that he can't be totally replaced and he can win a game with a few seconds of class

Did anyone else think that last nights Chelsea match was the dullest game ever televised???

I am not opposed to watching the blues play in anyway (quite the opposite) but I found myself nodding off!

I find many of Chelsea's games boring, last night was absolutely awful though in the bits I watched (I couldn't watch more than about 15 minutes total)
