I'm thinking about going over to O2 unlimited from Sky Max(which is £15 a month unlim)...and I was wondering how do I "migrate" over as they are both LLU services?

Also I have never had any problems with Sky MAX, infact I love it, but I want to cancel the Sky TV sub in the house so that means I will have to get rid of the internet as well...

I'm a moderately heavy user, never had any problems with Sky at all, is O2 a good choice? I have a O2 mobile phone contract as well if it helps. With Sky I get excellent speeds 15-16MB, what can I expect with O2?

Thanks

edit: Also forgot to ask, is it possible to get rid of the sky tv and keep the broadband?

Excellent, Didn't know LLU providers started using MAC keys...Any ideas on how long the process may take?

They always did. The only time you won't get a MAC key is when it's full LLU and you need to get the voice service back to BT first.
It'll take as long as moving from any LLUer to another, such as from BTw to Sky, circa a week with a bit of downtime.

I see, thanks for the quick replies.

Can anyone tell me if O2 BB is any good? I've done a bit of reading and it seems people are happy...

Ive just moved over to o2 from BT and am more than happy with it.
Dont forget to sign up to Quidco to recieve £100 cash back ;)

I got a brief from work the other day saying that we (SKY) will be offering our broadband and phone packages without the need to have our TV package.

If you like the service that you have received from sky so far then ask them about that first. If it is not available yet then it will be very very soon. :)

Cheers for the heads up - But I think they would probably charge more if you did not have a Sky TV pack no?

I would have thought so, but from what I have seen so far, it is not by much.
I wont get told any prices as it wont affect what I do.
At the end of the day it is up to you who you go with. If you stay with sky you wont have any down time though. :)

wow, that is quick.
I guess it is just down to price then.
Your best bet will be to try and find out how much it will be a month for them and go from there. :)

I've requested my MAC...they said either wait for it in the post(5 days) or ring back in 72 hours!

I would expect is it in a fair usage policy, my folks just went to O2 but are not in an area where they have their in equipment in the exchange so its normal ATM. It seems ok but the router they send out is a piece of work it really is, insecure by default with WEP cant change it even in admin account. Not pretty, other then that fiiine :)

If you get their LLU service there shouldn't be any traffic manipulation at all.

Sure you can. I've stuck mine back in the box or I'd take a screenshot, but you can definitely change it to use WPA2 and change the PSK.

Well I hunted all over it and on mine which seemed to be a rebranded thompson modem I couldn't find the option anywhere. So I rebuild an uptodate firmware and reflashed my old 604t and plugged it back in.
