Migrating to a new ipad

For her birthday I am buying my daughter a new iPad air to replace her mini. How would I go about backing everything up on her mini and then restoring it to the new air? E.g. so that her various games are preserved (the game saves, not just the games themselves which can obviously just be downloaded again).

iCloud back up on the old device (its in the icloud settings iirc) then when setting up the new air it'll prompt you to sign in and give you a list of available backups to load.

Or back it up to a computer. Either way it couldn't be much easier.

done mine through iTunes backup old one plug in new on restore

so easy and straightforward
