Migrationg from talktalk

Hi, just a quick question. My friend is on talktalk (full package LLU ) and his contract is up and wants to move to sky broadband.
He has been told because its LLU and not BT network he can not migrate and must cancel with talk talk and then signup for sky meaning about 15 days worth of no internet access.

This does not sounds right to me, is it not possible to simply ask talktalk for a mac and migrate and then cancel their phone service?

You need a phone service for broadband to work on top of... If he cancels the phone, the broadband will get taken down with it.

If he's on full LLU, he has to get the voice service back to BT (even if it's through Sky) first. I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than 15 days without an ADSL service.
