Worth while upgrade on a turbocharged engine?

I think john has one on his Focus RS, whats the build quality like and do they actually add any power / torques, i would also like to keep the noise at cruise low as poss and it to bark slightly when i put my foot down.

Cheers lads :)

You think correctly mate, got the full system (bar manifold) on mine, so sports cat and everything backwards from that. Build quality is spot on, they use 304 grade stainless steel for everything so are pretty bomb-proof. Sound wise, mine burbles nicely at tickover and cruise and only really clears it's throat when i start nailing it, which is exactly how I wanted it.

I got 242Bhp at the RR with the Miltek and a K&N panel filter. Standard for the RS is 212Bhp, so that's a 30Bhp difference (even assuming the Ford figures are conservative and the RR figures were optimistic, I'd still say about 20ish Bhp easily). Be aware that the cat is usually the real restriction, a lot of guys go for the de-cat but I can't be bothered changing back to standard every year for MOT purposes. The difference in driving the car was very noticable, felt like the engine was actually breathing properly. Highly reccomended :)

What kind of Passat is this that requires a Miltek!? :p

I have a full system on mine including sports cat on the down pipe, with a straight through centre pipe and a 4 inch round tailpipe. Sounds amazing as well as looking good.

Passat? have I missed something lol.

Lol nah, didn't post a thread about it, needed a bigger car since i'm buying a house and everything, still got the mazda but i'm gonna have to sell it :(

So i went for a 1.8t Sport Estate, quite happy with it tbh, got loads of kit goes quite well just need to sort out the cornering

Its the 1.8t and i want to get this done before i get a remap done.

I like it, but then you knew that anyway, the splitter helps its looks no end ;) :p

I was however surprised by how well it kept pace up to around 80mph.

So long as the exhaust doesn't make it too loud then it will be a great mod, just don't think the passat will look too right with a loud zorst.

Exactly, as you know its going to be all low key OEM VAG stuff, i want it to look smart not silly and sporty.

However hopefully it won't be too shabby if i do all the things we've talked about performance and style wise :)

Aye thats the one Si.

Same engine with some slight differences, mine is an AWT build El's its a BAM, his is 225 stock mine is 150, mine will remap to 195 and then i need a bigger turbo.

Not sure what the internals are good for but if i can get 225 / 250 then thats gonna make it quite quick :)

Sounds good may shock a few people.

Will the mazda still be at MM5 or will it be gone by then?

Not sure yet, if its at the MM it will be in NA form since i've removed all the ECU / Wideband / MAP sensors and all my gauges etc.

But i still need to take the supercharger off so the car isn't drivable atm.

Damm, being sensible and buying a house sucks. :(

Trust me it won't last, i give myself about 2 years before i'm in something nutz and loads of fun again, if all goes well with the house and a few things at work play out i'm looking at a second car from either Lotus / TVR or dare i say Ferrari.
