Milltek Cat Back

Problem is i've got is so much mixed info, one guy claimes the stock 150 to be good for 300bhp with a diff turbo and mani, he said something about the vag loom between the 180 and 150 being diff and they needed to be cut into and changed.

Somone else is saying to K03 will remap to 185 and others say 195 some are saying its actually closer to 210, but 195 is the least you will get.

Meh, simple answer is do it and see what happens.

150 is known to get up to 200bhp from what i've seen.

180-190bhp would be a v.nice increase though. Worth getting it remapped

Yea i hope so its a good 33% power increase :)

I have a revo dealer just 5 mins from my house offering the free 5 hour trial might give it a shot over the BH weekend :)

Hmm, I wouldn't go with the REVO remap personally. When the 5 hour trial is up it puts it back to REVOS standard map not Skodas which is different. Also it leaves flags / changes in there which can provide hassle for anyone else to remap the car.

It may be a bit harsh but there are so many good remappers out there you can do without that sort of hassle!

...plus the local guys here sounded like right thickos.

Standard VW map ;)

Who did you get your remap with Ethos?

Cheshire, will look for a local dealer, something like bluefin not out for these?

Awesome GTI who use APR software are in Manchester about 40 miles away from you.

They are a board sponser on Briskoda and seem to have a very knowledgeable team.

You know what I mean!

If mine was remapped ;) it would have been an APR remap.
I get what you mean. Nod nod, wink wink ;)

A similar thought passed my mind but any tom dick or harry with a laptop can tell if its been done and I'd be too paranoid to take the risk :o

Who did you get yours remapped with?

Yea, they can just log the boost. That's why I haven't had mine done :p

Once its done its change insurance time, i've only got 4 months or so left with directline then i'm off to someone mod friendly, want my extra years ncd first.

I haven't.

With the unexpected cost of a cambelt and waterpump coming so soon :o its not really on the cards for this year. I might look into it late November, if I think its a possibility I'll go with a more mod friendly insurer when my renewal comes up in December.

I paid £290 for both at my local Skoda dealer which I thought was pretty reasonable. That included a hire car and a coolant flush too.

Service and MOT for me next month. Going to be another £200 I should imagine...

I didn't want to take a day off to get it done which restricted me to two dealers. One said £333 to £382 depending on engine code (not heard that one before) the other said £325. So £325 it is :o Just hoping the courtesy car isn't a Roomster :o

Usefully I've got my MOT and insurance renewal both in December so Janes going to be getting a lump of coal and a satsuma for Christmas :p

Sorry for the off topic :o

Haha, lucky James!

£325 isn't too bad for both of them, and the courtesy car will DEF be a Roomster.

I'm going to take the day off for the MOT and Service as my dealer is about 20 miles away. I might try and blag a ride in the MK2 Octavia VRS... for the day :D

I put a Miltek Cat Back on my 850R and whilst there aren't any noticable performance gains (still has standard DP and cat) the noise is much improved.

The Miltek is a nice balance between giving more engine noise but not too much that it becomes intrusive or a pain on long journeys.

I get a nice burble at idle but it's pretty restrained unless I open the taps and then it's a nice growl. The exhausts look good too & lifetime warranty!
