Hey guys,

I remember there used a big thread (maybe there still is, but can't seem to find it when searching!) with an unofficial OcUK Minecraft/FTB server running.

Does this still exist? I've had a look at https://ftbservers.com/modpack/ftb-beyond for some public servers but they seem very pay2win with various levels of subscription that give you flying modes and such, which doesn't really appeal to me, but I'd still rather not play alone!

Sadly the last thing I saw on here of a minecraft server was simply beyond racist ( was a member with a fair few posts/time too iirc ) thread was shut down real quick by mods even the thread title was derogatory towards Jews. Don't recall seeing anything else MC related sincerest incident but good luck with your hunt mate

I'm fairly sure that's a different thing to the old LinkTart server. Sadly it is no more but there's a thread for a vanilla (with a couple of mods) server: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/new-minecraft-1-12-survival-server.18722760/

There have been a couple of Minecraft servers used by OcUK people, and they've been great. No idea about the dodgy one mentioned by Harry5522 but it certainly wasn't anything to do with the LinkTart server or the one in Haaammit's thread. I haven't been able to get on Haaammit's recently, it always appears to be down.

Looks like I might just hop onto one of the more popular open servers, or maybe host my own as I currently rent a dedicated server and have enough RAM and CPU resource spare to host one with a few slots available.

Just thought I'd hijack your thread to jump in and say hi! I can't remember anything racist on linktart and there's nothing like that on thecooltable.

We (cooltable.org) tried FTB Hermitpack a while back, but it didn't really pan out for us, so we've gone back to semi van on 1.12.2 @molinari - our data-centre apparently went down for a couple of weeks, which is why the server was down for almost 3 weeks :eek:

. minecraft.cooltable.org is back up and running now though!

@Dunks - I hope you find a good server to play on - pay2win sucks!

Cool. I think I'll be going with FTB Beyond!

Yeah it's annoying that most seem to let you buy flying mode and end game items for a small fee, but guess it pays towards the upkeep of the servers running large numbers of players which is obviously not cheap! But I remember playing on some FTB Infinity servers a year ago and they accepted donations but you'd just get a fancy coloured nick ingame or something
