Update - 31 July 2010

Minecraft has evolved into a totally new experience. In place of the "create what you please" mode, Notch has turned minecraft into something much deeper. It is now a fight for survival. You must mine any blocks that you wish to build with. Basic blocks like wood and stone are easy enough to come by, but more exotic materials must be mined for, with tools you have created. Axes for trees, pick axe for stone... swords for zombies. ZOMBIES!

The further down you mine into the dark the more chance you have of finding rare materials. Just be careful not to dig your way into a lava pool, or through the roof of a giant natural cave, or into the jaws of a cave dwelling creeper. And when you return to the surface, just hope it it's either daylight or you have a nice secure fortress nearby.

Hightly addictive, if you like to build things for no reason. I do :)

Some of the ladscapes I have seen online crafted collectivley by the people that log on are astonishing.

So, check it out.

Also, once registered (required for online play) join the OcUK server now hosted by Rroff, just don't **** up anything that doesn't belong to you. To get in you must be registered on the OcUK forum, see page 14 (post 398).

A fair warning: Although this is a fun, light hearted game, a lot of us have put a lot of effort into our awesome little world. If you delete any blocks that don't belong to you expect an immediate IP ban.

EDIT: OcUK server is now dead. It was fun boys and girls :)
