I do not know much about it but it is a variation of Minecraft: Pocket Edition.

Feels VERY smooth compared to the Java version.

Could be a solid base if Microsoft pull through with mod support etc.

hmmmmmm.......normal minecraft work with win 10? will be updating my son's pc and mine and he loves minecraft

Yes. The standard PC Minecraft continues to work just as well as it's ever done.

This new Windows 10 Edition is a spin-off of/update to Minecraft: Pocket Edition, which will eventually become cross-platform compatible.

Hmm i have payed for this game 6 times, please not again....

Or will having 2 pocket edition accounts mean i won't have to?

If you have the standard pc version then you can get this version for free. If you don't then i think its around £10 or something.

Their aim is to have this version equal the the standalone in the long run.

3 years ago which was my point hes not invovled any more is he and so has no part to play in windows 10 version, so his comments on windows 8 are irrelivent

I think you're looking into things a bit too much.

It's just a bit of fun being as he sold himself it to Microsoft (rightly so too), the company he criticised in tweets.

Thanks dave, both boys have windows accounts

So I noticed the UI was same as the Android/iOS version, I decided to load up Minecraft on my Android based phone as well. And then noticed it detects the Minecraft world loaded on my PC. Tried to connect but it doesn't seem to work. Tried the other way round but that fails as well. Oh well, I guess it is in beta at the moment, but would be awesome to have a "server" on the desktop and allow my younger cousins who loves playing this to connect with their iPhones and iPads. I used my phone as a server once... the battery didn't last long :D.

I still prefer normal Minecraft. It's nice they have a built in Java now but the Windows 10 version does feel a lot smoother and uses less resources.

Modpacks when :p?
