I was in a similar position as it didn't seem that interesting but I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I downloaded a dodgy copy and spent 5 hours utterly engrosed so bought it. Imo a time limited single player demo would be a good idea but as there isn't one then I've no problem with pirating it to try it out.
