Guys, I am toying with building a Mini ITX Rig. No Dedicated GPU. Just game now and again and in low settings.

What is the best CPU / Mobo combo with intergrated GPU?

I will be buying a Modular PSU and a small case, maybe a Core 500.I have an SSD.

Plus i will get 8GB ram

It will be used for all types of stuff with the occasional game. Cheers

This a good combo? Decent on chip GPU?

This good? Better than i5 and HD5500?

I would go for I5, especially sdkylake as it's capable of playing games 1080p. Here is a link to igpu that this cpu has: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/core_i5_6600k_processor_review_desktop_skylake,14.html

And if you feel cpu is too slow just buy 960 4gb later on. AMD apu's are there forever there isnt anything you can do to make them run better as cpu performance is way behind intels. Although A10 7850k will give you better performance in games.

He wants to occasionally game, there's no point getting an i5 when he can get an AMD APU for half the price.

What about this spec, would it run on a Pico 160W PSU as the case i like is tiny:

Intel Core i5-6400 2.70GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - Retail

TeamGroup Elite 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C16 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit

F1CWS Evo Chassis

I will be using an SSD which i have and an external USB DVD drive. No Dedicated GPU as onboard is all i need.

i5 5675 might be worth looking at? GT3e

What are you actually needing to do with the PC?
I'm on an AMD at the moment, for generic use and occasional gaming machine, it works great.
An Intel setup would have course be quicker in demanding applications, but for light gaming, its really not worth the extra cost!

If you were going AMD, it opt for the 7800, rather than the 7850/7870k, due to it being 65w.

I understand that thought, the broadwell chip is what I'd buy for an itx setup just now, if budget was high.
The AMD chip is based off years old design, but with fast ram, the strong GPU keeps it relevant. There are some decent FM2+ ITX boards also.
