Hi all,

I'm planning on buying another two of the 27" catleap monitors to go with 2 x 7850 Crossfire cards.

am I right in thinking the following:

Monitor 1 - DVI-D from Graphics Card A
Monitor 2 - DVI-D from Graphics Card B
Monitor 3 - Mini DP > DVI-D from Graphics Card A or B

I know DP 1.2 specs are compliant with 2560x1440 but I can only find DP 1.1 cables on the market. Do I need a cable, or will I need some kind of expensive adapter (which seem to be also 1.1 compliant only)

Thanks!!

Hi there,

The catleap monitors require a dual-link DVI connection and unfortunately only one of the DVI ports on your graphics card is dual-link (the other is single link and can't drive such a high resolution monitor). Also, with crossfire you can only connect displays to the top card.

Therefore, to connect up two more catleap monitors to your graphics card you will need to use active mini-DP to dual-link DVI adapters, however these are quite expensive.
