trying to use my macbook on my 19" monitor

i've got a miniDVI - DVI adaptor, then i've got a DVI - VGA adaptor then a VGA cable to my screen.

but i can't get anything on the screen i can get the mac to see it but not get anything actually on the screen

Any ideas cheers?

It won't work because Apple cheaped out by making the Mini DVI to DVI a DVI-D and not DVI-I like the rest of the world uses.

So you'll have to buy another £15 (lol) adaptor.

IMO that mini display-out port is poorly designed. There's a lot of play in the connection and my DVI adaptor always works its way around and gets loose. The pins are going to get bent and stop the port working some day..

Ive been using it for about 3 years, with powerbook and macbook, unplugging and replugging probably daily on average, and have had no issues so far.
