Mini fail

Insurers get arsey enough when you mention pearlescent paint, so quite how he was expecting to insure a flashing beacon to thieves and vandals is beyond me.

I am amazed that they actually bought it - the dealership is obviously BMW Park Lane who have for as long as I can remember always had a complete bonkers spec Mini in the showroom for up to £40ishk.

I didnt know people actually bought them!

Me thinks they have only been trying the usual suspects rather than looking into specialists. I can't imagine companies who are willing to hand out policies on 600BHP+ Supras and Skylines refusing to insure a shiny Mini...

The insurance companies are probably basing it on the basis of stupidity - if you're stupid enough to buy a mini for nearly 40k, you're probably likely to get confused between reverse and forward gears or try to park in a hedge
