Mini ITX AMD gaming build?

Good day to all the clockers. So, being an intel man all my life and not knowing much about AMD I was wondering if there is anyone here who can either spec me or provide advice on a Mini ITX AMD gaming build?
The build should be in the smallest possible form factor and aimed at gaming. I will require:
1) OS
2) Motherboard (mini ITX)
3) CPU/ APU
4) 8GB RAM
5) CPU cooler
6) GPU
7) Optical drive
8) PSU
9) SSD (Dont need more than 250GB, will Hybrid be better in this build?)
10) SFF case

The idea behind this build would be for mid range gaming i.e. I still want to play the likes of crisis 3, but not too concerned about playing it at amazing settings etc.

I have a mouse and kb and a monitor too.

Please let know what your thoughts are on this.

I do not have a specific budget in place, however cheaper will always win the day.

Thanking you in advance.

Out of interest why are you looking at an AMD build?

The only reason I ask is because I've been putting together a few mini ITX specs for myself recently but they've all been Intel so aren't worth posting if you're set on AMD.

I currently have a reasonably high end intel system....the machine I am looking at building here will be my second machine which should be portable. The reason I asked for AMD is because I know very little about them. AMD builds are supposed to be cheaper and more bang for buck in my understanding.....unless I am wrong in assuming that. I know I said I dont have a set budget, but I dont want to end up with a build in the range of 800 quid for instance...dont know if that makes sense? If you think you could spec a reasonable Intel SFF please be my guest. Thanks for the reply.

I'll have a go, do you want to be able to overclock at all? SFF especially mini ITX builds are usually quite limited on air coolers so AIO or low profile coolers are need (or custom WC loop obviously but that may be overkill).

If you're not looking at overclocking the below may be suitable.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i3-4130 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £83.99
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE120BW) £79.99
1 x Gainward GeForce GTX 650 Golden Sample 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £79.99
1 x Asus H81I-Plus Intel H81 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard £68.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan GOLD 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLYD38G1600HC9DC01) £59.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 450W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £53.99
1 x Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced Mini-ITX Case - Black £39.95
1 x LiteOn IHAS124-14 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £14.99
Total : £491.47 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Tiny.
80 Plus Gold PSU.
Fast 120GB SSD.
8GB of 1600mhz RAM

AMD mini ITX boards are still few and far between (at least on OCers) so you'd be better off looking at mATX for AMD, which will also give you more mini ITX intel options.

By dropping the GPU you could upgrade the mobo and CPU for not much extra giving you room for future OCing and just using the onboard GPU.

No problem, just remember that the OCable CPU will be no good without adequate cooling and that case especially has extremely restricted cooler height (65mm).

If the OP is open to mATX there are quite a few alternatives, mini ITX is quite limited in both Intel and AMD camps but the cases are substantially smaller which was the main criterion.
