Mini ITX Build which case / mobo?

Case and motherboard have arrived, really like the case ideal for the way room is setup, the mobo is tiny ! Might start putting this together later, no CPU cooler yet though, might have to find a stock Intel cooler sure I've got one here somewhere..

First ever mini ITX I've built for myself, tbh I'll be amazed if I can get all my drives / GPU etc in there lol.

Lol sounds good! Pics!! :)

The case is nice but inside looks a mess tbh, using a stock Intel cooler with AIO cooled GTX 980, it's a real squeeze to get it all in lol. I've got a new cooler as a temp on it's way (Intel stock cooler is not great). At some point I'll move back to a reference card that exhausts heat out the rear and then I can put the Antec Kuhler 920 on the CPU. Then I'll add some pics lol.

I'm amazed how much you can get in this case, 2 X SHDD + 2 x SSD, GTX 980 AIO cooling, mobo + memory and 750W PSU. Once I get some different parts I'll tidy it all up. I'm just glad it's up and running for now tbh.

Aww, didn't notice this soon enough. I could have suggested yet another case: Raidmax Atomic (190x244x277mm). It fits max 165mm CPUs and 265mm GPUs (dual slot). From a semi-thorough research, this is the smallest case that offers that much leeway. Though there are some potential limitations:

- longer than average PSU will limit the GPU's length
- only two HDD/SSD positions
- only one case fan possible, I think (rear, 120mm)

From what I've understood, they apparently recommend water cooling for this case, as the promo images clearly flaunt it.

And I could have only suggested the case, not yet recommend it, as I've only ordered it a couple of days ago, myself. Will hopefully arrive next week. Furthermore, I ordered an AMD APU system, without a discrete GPU, for now. Anyway, currently the biggest question mark with the case is the PSU's wiring, as the PSU's orientation is quite ... unusual. Also, there are NO reviews of the Atomic yet, so I'm basically taking a gamble as to how they've solved it (the info at the homepage is very sparse).

Just made a separate thread for the build, if someone is interested: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18652170

Just noticed you have the same mobo as me.

I love my board, couldn't give myself a reason to buy the gaming.

Yeah I chose this as it has extra Sata and built in WiFi. Got to say it's a great lil mobo. No problems with this build. All working well.

Hoping to throw in a Broadwell CPU later this year, my 4770K runs hot. I want something similar performance but lower temps, Broadwell hopefully be ideal.

Another recommendation for the elite 130 from me. A very fully featured and very small case, and besides its (subjectively) 'unattractive' looks, there really isn't much wrong with it. I'm thinking of putting together another mini itx build for AMDs new 300 series of cards, and if I do, this case would probably be my first choice. I really can't understand why it's so overlooked :)

Just realised you've bought your case/ mobo already so ignore the post above. (I should've read the whole thread, it wasn't that long). Gratz on getting started with your new build :)

Very nice.

I have the urge to increase my storage now.

My 256gb SSD (os/games/apps), 320gb spinner (libraries) and 2tb USB 3 (backup/storage) needs a dedicated OS drive now and I'd like a bigger library drive.

Nice Boom. Doing a lower spec ITX build myself and will be going with the elite 130 case others have mentioned. One question, case states max 255 length GPU, 980 ref is 268 so how did it fit?

Edit: Interesting, Hardocp say 285mm but kitguru said 255, odd.

damn that case is awesome, mean id never own any gpu like that unless i ever take a turn to real modern pc gaming, but that sort of setup would certainly fit my needs, wish i could afford it lol.

Yes a case like that is cool, I am wanting a console sized case where you don't need a riser. It is a real shame there are almost none & the one I found didn't really get a thumbs up on a forum I go to... Apparently small cases with a ODD & able to take a everyday dual slot card with no riser needed is just a want of mine... A 2 slot Element Q would be so awesome to me, well maybe a bit taller also... Really it would make more sense a case that small to put a dual slot in to exhaust all the heat & it is a odd decision they didn't...
