I'm building a Mini ITX system for a friend who wants a small PC.

It is mainly going to be used for general home office work, he already has a kb/mouse, large HDD and licenses.

This is what I've specced, he wants a good monitor so I've gone for the Dell, is there anything better for less?

This is an alternative at similar price which you could consider:

A Grid Autosport game comes free with the i5 4690K, and with that motherboard and the i5 4690K you "should" be able to some cashback (£40) as well:

Theres no proper reviews on the one I linked, just a few unboxing videos and a end users first impression.

I guess if you are not happy you can return it.

I'll be interested in how your build goes. I'm waiting delivery of my own Antec ISK600 case, the first item on my list. I want to put together a high end gaming computer in as small a case there is, that has room for multiple drives. This will be my first build and I'm still putting together a list of parts. I looked at the Prodigy case, but in the end it was just too large for me. Hope you keep us informed as you go.

just fyi, the isk600 isn't designed for high end gaming builds. it does not have enough ventilation.

I'm going to stay clear of any Haswell processor, and go for a closed loop liquid cooling system, so I should be okay. There's a few successful builds similar to what I have in mind and they haven't reported any heat issues.

You're right about that, but considering my current card is an ATI Radeon Series HD 5400, I think I can move up quite a bit without getting too much heat.

I was looking forward to your Antec ISK600 build. It would have been interesting to see what you could do with it. Why did you decide to change to the Silverstone case?

Mainly because it is quite a bit smaller and cheaper. That being said, I've just looked at it again and it doesn't look like it will support the ODD, 2.5" SSD and 3.5" HDD, I think you can only have two of these at anyone time, not all three. Can someone confirm that?

Good choice, the SG05 is substantially smaller than the ISK 600 and feels better engineered.

I've just built a SG05, the slimline optical fits at the top, a 2.5" drive underneath it and a 3.5" drive below that. They all fit.:)

Edit: The Akasa lead is quite short and just reaches the SATA ports on my Gigabyte Z87N board without being under stress.

The optical drive fits into a tray on the top of the case. This tray has a shelf riveted to it for the 2.5" drive. The 3.5" drive then fits into a removable cage that hangs from the 2.5" drive shelf. So all 3 fit at once, but the end result is half of the 120mm front fan is covered with a drive cage.

But yes it does all fit.
