I really want to keep a mini ITX footprint, can have a two slot card that is 280cm's

Am I just setting myself up to fall and do I need to get a bigger case and better MB?
 
I did have a 1070 in a Core V1 and it ran really cool and quiet (I love quiet). I have a Fractal case loft that I would use but have not seen the point.

My Core V1 is a real mess now (dented and bent) doesn't hold a very big cooler (I have a Freezer 13 form 2 builds ago in at moment on an i3)

Maybe now I need to start thinking of a bigger case if I want o start getting a K chip and seeing better performance.

Will look at cases with space for a better cooler.

I'm currently on an ITX system and wish I had gone for mATX. There's such a better range of motherboards in mATX form factor.

Will look at them ideally I have a space under my desk I would like to fit. The fan at the front of the Core V1 really helps shift the air (no stupid outdated disk drive).

Really hate that case, used to have similar. The power is over the CPU so you restrict everything off the bat.

I like the power to be on a different level to the the motherboard, like two compartments, below for power DDS etc..

Hate is strong but it really is a horrible layout (I think the layout I want will always compromise my GPU choice).

Power over CPU isn't an issue if you use an AIO, which is what the case is designed for. 120mm AIO up front, PSU acting as an exhaust. Only thing with that case is that there's not much space to route cables neatly.

Stop that.. I've already convinced myself I need a 1080ti on here... now two lol (I ordered a Oculus Rift today to compare with my vive when I get my setup finished)

To the right of my desk I have a pile of old game guides I'm trying to sell... If I can find a case that would fit perfectly there I might move th a bigger setup.

I'm sure it would be fine, it just wasn't for me.. makes me cringe thinking, I bought two similar sized with a PSU already in (came out with a profit on it). The model I had the PSU stuck out the back a little, it made the aesthetics disgust me ;)

36cm x 21cm x 36cm - 27 Litres :D

the STYX mATX verison is 24 Litres at 36x 21x 33........ and the thetis would offer better cooling and 2 glass windows and is only £10 more at the moment!
