My son is 8 and I'm watching him play Titanfall (quite well I may add). Gaming is a big part of his life. Back in 1999 for a few years I went to the I series events. It just occurred to me that he would love to go to one.

The Insomnia FAQ page is currently being rewritten. Does anyone know the minimum age of accompanied children?

It would be quite a father / son moment to take him to an event I used to go to.

The only age restriction is that kids under 13 need to be accompanied by an adult as far as I'm aware.

Just make sure you don't sit near the CS/CS:Go section if you value your hearing and innocence ;)

Slightly off topic but I swear when I was 11 my aim on Unreal Tournament with a crappy ball mouse was better than my aim now

That just brought back memories of having to de-fluff the mouse mid game and hoping not to get killed :)

You're a bit younger than me I bet but I was nodding as I read that.

No country for old men, right?

You can download it for free and play online. I did it a few months back. Still loads of people still playing as well.

I used to play it with a few of my mates in his loft when I was 15/16 haha

you let your 8 year old play a game with an age recommendation of 16

/slowclap

It's a recommendation. It's his son, his choice.

Playing GTA since I was like 10, I'm only just old enough to legally play it. Seems ridiculous, thank god my parents didn't care :D
