Minimum spec for Crysis?

Beta is only single core
Beta has a lot of debug code
Beta "pauses" could easily be net code issues.

Stop judging Crysis performance on a beta... Wait for the demo or full release.!

beta is missing a lot of physics code
beta is missing ai code

if both of those were added to beta it would run even slower. :D
flapp not let ye be flappeth :D

Ai and physics code are all to do with cpu though really. Well some of the physics on the graphics card. But with a quad core or c2d im sure that would be handled ok :) so i think the other dave is right

Its 'ok' here on BFG 8800GTS 320mb & Core 2 Duo E4300 @ 3ghz.

When I say its ok, get mid 20's outside and 70 inside, thats running at 1680 x 1050 mind.

Not too impressed with the mp beta though.

what settings is that at ? medium ?

wondering cause ive got the same card, and im gettting a 22inch monitor on tuesday, so wondering how my card is gonna cope.

its not too smooth running at even a 17" native res for me

I wouldnt know if cpu speed or hard drive could affect it, e6300 at stock, and crappy sata1 hdd(not one in my sig) just for now, (upgrade on tuesday)

I just moved to a quad cpu and stuck with my x1900 256mb and its now nigh on 25-30 constant outside with up to 50 or more indoors :)

BTW this is with everything set on medium - the game still looks amazing !

in the Beta 3? wow. i've a C2Q, 4GB PC26400 and an 8800GTX and i get the same framerates. (settings on high) (1680x1050)

yeah, just checked, with a C2Q @ 3GHz 4GB DDR2 @ 800 and an overclocked GTX, i get 37 constant outdoors and about 70 indoors. (everything on High)

But everything on high adds things like motion blur, HDR (I think) amongst other things that normally kill your frame rate so I would say you're doing ok.

HDR is added with shader quality set to high... There is a huge difference outside ;)

I can run it all on high apart from textures, they have to be set to medium :(

LOL, I tried it with 7600gt, Xp3400+ and 1 GB ram!!

Half the textures didnt show up and I was probably getting 1-2 fps (but didnt check this)

If multi-core support was enabled, they probably wouldn't be an issue.

Flap not lest ye be flappethed, and the flapper flapped.

A: That's utter ********... with dual core support, better coding and no debugger running the performance increase should outweigh any extra demand the AI/Physics would add as long as you have a dual core CPU.

B: Why do you seem happy that (in your mind at least) the game will run slower?

How do you think a 7950GT 512MB is going to play?

C2D at 3.1GHZ and 2GB DDR2

Cheers.

Well, your CPU is running at 300mhz higher than mine and your graphics card is roughly 20% faster. I ran mine at 1680x1050, medium textures, water, models and particles iirc with everything else at low and AF set to 8x in my drivers getting around 20-40 outside and 35-55 inside.

I would expect you to get about 25-45 FPS at the same settings.

I do get some major drops in fps though when theres a lot going on - the figures I posted are just a rough figure - when not much is going on ... It goes to sub 20 often enough when theres explosions and what not going on
