Minor Computer Accident - Help required!

Ok so earlier i accidentaly spilt a bit of water on my USB keyboard which now, understandably, works intermitently (for instance pressing "w" results in "we" and other keys just dont work.

I got a ps2 keyboard from a friend and it works on his computer but not on mine :S. Im a bit screwed as i need to print out some work for a lecture tomorrow.

Any ideas as im stumped. :/

EDIT: It seems to work fine in the bios but as soon as i get to the welcome to windows screen (where i have to press CTRL-ALT-DEL) nothing works. :S

voice dictation software if you can't find another keyboard that will work for sure!

Have you checked in bios to see if you have disabled the PS/2 ports in the bios? If you could get into Windows then you could use the on-screen keyboard but if you have passworded the user account you are a bit stuffed there. Depending on the version of Windows you may just be able to stick in a Windows CD and get it to boot directly off that but I don't know enough about that to advise properly.

Voice dictation: I have no microphone :S

BIOS: Nothing in there, would there be any jumpers etc on the motherboard?

Remove hard disk drive.

Insert into mate's PC

Recover work.

Worry about weird keyboard problems later.

no reason why the ps/2 keyboard wont work on yours
give it a fiddle push it in n out a few times may probally work after that
does with one of my rigs which i use for testing purposes

Stick you keyboard upside down and somewhere pretty hot for 1/2 hour (radiator will do if you must) then try it again.

That bound 2 keys happened to me before I just bought another keyboard.

Hmmm ive kindof sorted the problem.

I tried the PS2 Keyboard again to no avail. I then got a friends usb keyboard (im in halls hence i got 1 so quick) and that worked, logged in to pc and all was fine. Unplugged the USB KB and the PS2 one then worked. Restarted the computer with just the PS2 Keyboard plugged in and strangely it then worked!

Do you think that my USB Keyboard is just shorting out a bit as its still damp? Either way ill leave it overnight to dry.

Check the drivers in device manager.

It may well dry out after a day or two but you may find the keys stick mine did after an orange juice spill.

I just took it apart and gave it a bit of a clean, it worked fine apart from one key that stuck once in a while but it wasn't a big problem.
