Mintex Brakes

Which range? I haven't bought Mintex in a while, but I found that 1155 pads worked well but squealed like crazy if you braked gently. To be fair though, that's not how you're supposed to use them.

1155 are by no means any good as a pad for the road, but they are not meant to be.

They are described as "race/fast road", and I thought I'd pointed out that I wasn't using them right? IIRC there are 1166s, which are race only. Like all such pads, 1155s work well at higher temperatures, but get a bit twitchy (or squealy) when cold. There's nothing wrong with using them on the road, they're just a bit overkill for a standard saloon.

Any fast road/race pad is pointless for the road, and IMO, slightly retarded. There is genuinely no such need for a pad like that on UK roads.

Depends how you drive, and if you do multiple track days a year it's a good idea to get some.

Personally I hate mintex pads, they are mega dust generators.

False.

The EBC Yellowstuffs, for example, are fantastic when cold and downright mental when warmed up. I reckon the steel brake calipers themselves would turn into molten liquid metal before these pads gave up.

You're missing the point. On a normal journey, to and from work, heck, even over a 100 mile commute, what benefit do your "OMGEPICPADS" offer, that my OEM ones don't?

Oh, that's right, nothing.

If, IF, you venture near the entrance to a track, then, yes, I can accept that an upgraded pad / disc combo will be of benefit, but certainly not on my little jaunt to Tesco.

Oh and
The voice of inexperience, excellent.

Bhahwhahaha, aren't you like 25?
