Mirror C Drive

Hi All,

Quick question - want to replace my C Drive due to low space - currently a 128gb SSD with about 3 GB left.

I'd normally start fresh - but from what I've heard you can just do a direct mirror copy of the drive?

If I do this, is it just a case of doing the mirroring process and then setting the new drive as my C drive in BIOS, and the PC will boot up as if nothing has happened?

Any suggestions for best software to do this - any free ones?

Thanks.

Macrium reflect will do this. Most SSDs come with software to do this too.

You just mirror the drive across and then pull the old drive out or change the boot priority in your BIOS if you want to keep your old drive installed.

All sorted now - Macrium Reflect did the job nicely, good 350gb spare drive space now on my main PC.

Relegated the old SSD to my daughter's Dell laptop that was horrendously slow, the SSD has given it a new lease of life, totally different machine now.

Killed two birds with one stone!
