Mirrored RAID failed

Heyup chaps.

I've had a couple of 150gb Raptor X's in mirroring for nigh on 3 years on one of machines.

Before Christmas the array failed, luckily I had another identical drive so popped it in and the array rebuilt itself, very impressive and no data was lost.

Yesterday I plugged in the failed drive as a non raid disk and ran the Western Digital Diagnostics, wrote zero's etc.

The diagnostics came back OK so I popped the drive into a spare PC along with another Raptor X and tried to install Windows 7 to a mirrored array.

The install failed and the machine got stuck.

I then tried Windows 7 on just the 1 drive and it was successful.

Is there a way to check the RAID functionality of the disc?

Is it an RMA issue?

Cheers

A little update, I may try the Windows forum too.

I installed the suspect HD in another machine also in RAID 1 and installed Windows 7 32 Bit.

Today the RAID array has degraded.

It is the other drive, not the suspect one this time.

So has to be an OS problem.

I very much doubt it's windows causing the problem, reset the status of the of the drive and see if it happens again.

I'll reset and try again. This has now happened twice, each time a different drive on a different PC.

I tested the first drive to degrade with the WDDLG tool and it came out fine, not a single problem. The SMART status was OK.

On bootup the RAID screen is showing both drives OK but is flagged up as rebuild.

In Matrix Storage Manager it is showing as just one disc and the other is flagged up as missing.
