So the last week or so there has been news of this being made.

Amazon Italy and another Amazon site have recently put it up, they've since been taken down.

IGN are also reporting that a help site for mirror's edge 2 has appeared on EA's website.

Exciting news if it turns out to be true, maybe it'' be announced at E3!

I saw rumours yesterday, there was talk of a big EA exclusive for the Xbone, and this is it.

From the leaks I've seen today I'm pretty sure this is happening. Could all be BS though!

I hope (if true) that they dont try and change it drastically. I can see it being all high fives and swag to try and appeal to a bigger audience.

Original was great, heres hoping they make this one as good (if a little longer)

Personally I played the original through with no guns and found it a much better experience due to this.

Played through hard mode first time with no guns /ebrag

So it looks like they are "rebooting" this - giving Faith a new/different origin.

I'm sure the game will be awesome (graphics look great) but it's a shame it isn't a proper sequel. I hope they don't mess with Faiths character too much. Perhaps they mean prequel rather than re-boot?

The first one didn't sell well but I loved it. I think most people didn't like the lack of guns or something.

Reboot? Are they going to make Faith less Asian ala Ada Wong in Resi 6?!

Well that's the website saying it. They then say

The main character is going to again feature Faith from the first game. She has a new character disgin and is shown receiving her signature tattoos. Perhaps this is her origin story and takes place before the events of the original Mirrors Edge. Check out the trailer bellow.

...so perhaps not a reboot?

I don't remember EA saying either way at the conference.

EA stated it's a reboot. In fact, here's the press release:

Well that's a bit clearer (clearly the website haven't read that)

A bit odd to reboot it (but call it Mirror's Edge 2) the story was nothing special in the first so it's no great loss.

I don't think it is called Mirrors Edge 2- it just Mirrors Edge. All the paraphernalia is missing the '2'. Nothing, anywhere, says Mirrors Edge 2.
