I can only see the optical drives nm Windows if i set the Gigabyte controller to AHCI mode. I know there is nothing wrong physically with with the drives as I installed Windows from DVD. Everything is plugged in the same as it was before I reinstalled Windows, even then the BIOS setting were exactly the same. The only difference is I installed Windows with the Intel SATA controlled in AHCI mode rather than IDE.
