Hi. I'm trying to narrow down the causes of stuttering I'm getting in games like APB and BFBC2. I've just replaced an 8800GTX with a 5850 but am still getting it, albeit with slightly higher framerates. I'm about to change the CPU to a quad core but I thought I'd check if having 2 unmatched pairs with different latencies could be an issue? Would yanking out the Geil and leaving just the 4GB help?

Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
XFX Radeon 5850
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency Dual Channel
OCZ Gold Edition 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Series
Thermaltake VD4000SWA LCS Aluminium Kandalf Full Tower
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) *oc'd to 3Ghz*

Thanks.

Well the easy answer is to take out the 2x1gb kit and check. Do you even need 6gb for anything? 4gb is plenty for gaming. I used to have 8gb and I haven't noticed anydifference in games with only 4gb.
