Can I mix different brands of memory? I currently have 6GB of Patriot Triple Channel C8 memory, can I buy 6GB of another brand such as Corsair C8 memory and will it be compatible?

Should work fine, as long as both are rated at the same voltage, some triple channel kits use lower than the standard 1.65v.

Thanks, I have a very mild 3.2Ghz OC on an i7 920 D0, I have plenty of overhead so I assume even using all 6 slots should just mean a little tweaking rather than reverting to stock....

Just out of sheer curiosity. What do you need/want 12GB of RAM for?

P.S. I would avoid the Kingston. Never liked them. Get the last Kit you posted. Keep the modules the same IMO. Sell the patriots.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I have 8gb corsair xms3 installed (2x4gb) but have spare corsair xms3 4gb (2x2gb) can I use all four sticks in my system? With the 4gb sticks being in slot 1 and 2 and the 2gb sticks in 3 and 4?
