At the moment I have 2*512 PC6400 geil sticks. I've been hearing about a lot of issues with geil lately, which is suprising as my last board had 2*1gb DDR3200 which ran fine. Anyway, I want to add 2*512 of corsair PC6400 - I'm 99% sure it'll work but I want to make sure (as I'm at 430FSB). My main concern is the timings of the ram - whether this will cause any problems.

If both the Geil and the Corsair have the same ICs, you "might" be able to do it. However, I would not suggest it if you can avoid it. When adding memory to existing memory, ideally you would add DIMMs with the EXACT same ICs and of the same brand AND revision. Otherwise, it's possible you may not be able to boot or be unstable. In this case, I'd suggest a 2 x 1gb kit and find another use for the original 2 x 512mb.

Ah damn. Looks like I'll have to stick with Geil. I can't really afford to be messing with selling it.

Well, thanks for considering Corsair. I wish I could say, "sure, I guarantee it will work" but, I won't hand out bad advice. It "might" work is the most I'd venture.

If my finances allow it I may switch, but I have a gigabyte DS3/F7 bios...so I don't want incompatible ram.
