Not much have been done on the car because I had to work overtime...but I have put in a new glass and fix the roof. I have driven it for some miles and I dont mind all the time in the garage(but its thirsty) I have also put the car on a weight...front 510kg back 740kg total 1240kg with me inside and 20liter of petrol. Total without me and with 20liter of petrol : 1180kg. Remember I use turbo box, mk2 suspension, 9meter (ø50mmx2,6mm) of pipes to make the frame\cage and 1,5m2 sheetmetal, etc...with other pieces mayby it could reach 1000kg?

Ooooooooh, very interesting. Wheres the V8 from and whats the standard output?

1UZ-FE
The 4.0 L (3968 cc) all-alloy 1UZ-FE debuted in 1989 in the first generation Lexus LS 400/Toyota Celsior and the engine was progressively released across a number of other models in the Toyota/Lexus range. The engine is oversquare by design, with a bore size of 87.5mm and stroke of 82.5mm. It has proved to be a strong, reliable and smooth powerplant with features such as 6-bolt main bearings and belt-driven quad-camshafts. The internals are all forged, with the crankshaft being constructed of steel.

In its standard, original trim with 10:1 compression, power output is 191 kW (256 hp), torque of 353 N·m (260 ft·lbf).

The engine was slightly revised in 1995 with lighter conrods and pistons and an increased compression ratio to 10.4:1 resulting in peak power of 195 kW (261 hp) and torque of 363 N·m (268 ft·lbf).

In 1997, Toyota's VVT-i variable valve timing technology was introduced along with a further CR increase to 10.5:1 bumping power and torque to 216 kW (290 hp) and 407 N·m (300 ft·lbf).

The 1UZ-FE was voted to the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 1998 through 2000.

Applications:

1989-2000 Lexus LS 400/Toyota Celsior
1990-2002 Toyota Crown
1991-2000 Lexus SC 400/Toyota Soarer
1992-2000 Lexus GS 400/Toyota Aristo
Toyota MR2 Le Mans Car

1UZ-FE?

If so, any idea which iteration of that motor it is? Because it changed a little bit across the years it was produced. Think it ended up gaining variable valve timing near the end along with a bump up to 290 horsies. Even the early ones put out a reasonably healthy amount of power, mind.....so I bet this thing'll shift once built!

Im not sure what year it is, But i wouldnt be suprised if he tinkers with it a bit:D

It took him about 4-5 months to do all this so hes been building it quite quickly:cool:

I want a V8 in my 2 :(

I understand this is the only running/working v8 Mk1? I'm aware of a few Mk1 v6's and even v6 turbo and superchargers!!!

Yep, Tis the only working one.

There is a Second one on Twobrutal that is being done but with the engine in the North South Possition:cool:

Paul Woods was doing one but he hasnt got the time to complete it any more.

Its not mine, I wish it was thoiugh:):(

But like he said, the engine was limited to rev to 5700rpm in the video while they mnade sure everything was all good. These engines manage 8000rpm once set up:D

Video time again:D

Remember it is still limited to 5400rpm so there is plenty more power to be gained when he is ready to set it back to the regular limit:cool:
