ML Ethernet + WiFi Download speed

This maybe a stupid question:

If I'm connected to the net via WiFi and then plug in an ethernet cable, System Preferences/Network says that both are connected.

Does this mean that I'm using both channels to download, does it automatically switch to the fastest connection, or does it just use the first channel connected (in this case WiFi).

I may be wrong... but I think it automatically favours a physical connection. So if you're on wifi and you put an Ethernet cable in, it'll run through the Ethernet cable.

Nope, you're right.

You can change the service order in the network preferences if you wanted, although not sure why you would.
