Spent the last couple of weekends tidying up some odds and ends on the MR2. Main job has been the engine bay, unfortunately I haven't got any 'before' pics but I'm sure you all know what a grotty 20 year old engine bay looks like ;)

I'm particularly impressed with my nice shiny fuel rail.

I missed lots of spots but the aim is to have enough shiny bits that you don't notice the bit's I couldn't reach/be bothered with.

Im just picky and have an eye for detail :p

Pluss i was looking for a spot so i could say it :o

13 minutes from first post to thread dying a death.

Did I pick a bad time to post or are people just not interested?

Looks good and I know what a 4A-GE engine looks like after near 20 years. :D

Wheres the accelerator cable, how could you get rid of the Toyota master design? ;)

That'll be the 'jimi bracket™' Makes the pedal feel like it's attached to something as well as looking good.

i`d get rid of the cone filter, it will be sucking in hot air from the engine bay, even with the cold air feed you have.

Nah, the engine bay in a mk1 gets plenty of ventilation even without a cold air feed, on top of that I've also got the original induction system acting as a second cold air feed (you can just see it in the bottom left of the first pic)

Whats the box with T-VIS on it do?

It's just part of the inlet manifold. The T-VIS butterflies themselves are sandwiched between the manifold and the head.

You wont believe the difference that bracket makes! :D

Give the Japs a BDA and they all beetle off with their calculators and rulers and churn out the 4AG. Clever little sods.

I was going to suggest the lettering in a different colour on the cam cover, but I think that's a bit 80's and it looks better all silver after all.

That was actually the plan. Unfortunately when I tried to paint them I suddenly learned that the silver paint i'd used on the cam covers didn't like to be painted over and it all went a bit messy.

I then rubbed the lettering back to bare metal ready to try again before deciding that it looked quite good as it was and I couldn't be bothered faffing any more so just stuck them on the car :p
