I LOVE Swede! Anyone else with me? :) It's like orange mashed potatoes and I love mash which would account for my swede taste. There were halves going for 17p at tesco on their sell-by date so I thought, might as well. Takes two hands to slice and dice these things, they're solid as a rock, but it's worth it. Knob of butter and a bit of salt,.. perfect. Boiled potatoes, small drizzle of melted butter over them and grilled chicken. Burnt skin but who cares, lol. Lovely. That's what I'm eating right now btw.:p

:( they're really hard to find over here, shame as I like them too and they're pretty much essential in pasties.

I love swede, mashed or on a stew. Must grow some next year to bulk up the autumn veg store. Had a terrible year with squash & parsnips so I could do with some now.

Swede and carrot mashed, lashing of butter and ground black pepper, A M A Z I N G ;)

perfect with some creamy mashed potatoes :)

@PhillyDee, that is what we used to call them in Ireland. Its just England that calls them swede afaik.
and yet a turnip over here, is much smaller with a greenish skin

Mashed swede with a good sized knob of butter and freshly ground black pepper.

Delicious.
