As a avid gamer and a fan of the mmo genre I wondered what's about and what I should try?

I wanted to play blade and soul but alas not out here and I don't fancy reading foreign subtitles.

So any fellow geeks here??

To save some time what have you played already?

Your gonna get the usual responses, ESO, Wildstar, WOW, Rift etc

All the cool kids seem to be jumping into Wildstar atm, with the sadomasochists playing Elder Scrolls, people with dementia are still enjoying WOW altho personally im on a MMO hiatus atm :)

I've avoided all of those

Ones I've played

Starwars
Final fantasy
Played elder scrolls beta
Dc universe
city of hero's
Secret world

Like you I'm on a hiatus I just want something pretty that I can sink my teeth into and forget about my **** job lol

Archeage

Its very expensive to get into right now though, but beta in the next few months will be a lot more reasonable. That said I haven't regretting shelling out even for a moment yet :D

First game I have genuinely thought 'wow' at certain features/areas since the dreaded World of Warcraft. There is so much you can do it's unreal! Easily best mmo on the market at the moment in my opinion :)

the only MMO i have installed is LOTRO and its lifetime sub, still cba to play it!

When's the last time you played?

Does your lifetime sub actually mean anything now it's all pay-to-progress?
Genuinely interested, I had around 12 months worth of payments, came back to try it last year and had absolutely no reward for previously being a subscriber.

if you want something a bit different and not high fantasy themed check out the secret world - its buy to play so just initial purchase price plus mostly cosmetic cash shop and dlcs to purchase which give more content. but loads of content comes wit the initial purchase as is so youll be set for a while. really good game once you get past the usual funcom bugs and clunky animations. quests are way more interesting than the average mmo, and the progression system is interesting.

Check my post bro already got it

Get a Wildstar trial key. This game has injected much needed charisma and fun back into the genre for me.

There are always keys going in the official thread

I may does it allow you to continue through. That's what a annoyed me with betas they always make you restart I hate starting from the begining for no reason!

Yes because it's a buddy key and not beta.

Never get people who think they should be allowed to keep their beta characters, er selfish and greedy much springs to mind.

Hey if I'm bug sorting and testing and putting the hours in the least they can do is let me keep my noble elf ;)

I may look into it bud, appreciate everyone's views keep em coming

You got a few choices;

WoW. It's polished, you know what your gonna get and even 10 years later is still an amazing game,

Wildstar. First impressions are Decent. Levelling is a bit boring, nothing new or innovative, the end game looks interesting but can't say for sure.

Rift, i played it for 6 months or so, is free to play (at the time I played something's that I require mandatory such as AH access were needed to be purchased via it he in game cash shop). Over all was a decently fun game for a few months, raids felt lacking (coming from a top 50 WoW raiding guild), PvP was just bad and dungeons/farming were quite dull.

I hear eve online is great, not tried it but it looks fun.

I'd say get wildstar.

Same as me! since ftp came the games gone down hill, I don't think WB help though. I mean look at what they made Peter Jackson do in the hobbit or any of the numerous tripe they call games. Its all heresy!
