MMOs

Play4ed Wildstar was disappointed how clunky is the system its not that well rounded for me.
I my try Tera or archeage which one!!!

Wildstar is fantastic, a lot of fun exploration and a lot for the more hardcore playerbase like Raids etc.

Elder Scrolls Online is the other way around, heavy emphasis on the more casual, exploration and immersion aspects of an MMO with a decent endgame.

TERA has godlike graphics and combat, a world that'll rival any other MMO in size but not the most content tbh, it has some Raids but there's not a great deal to do once you beat the game except reroll another character and orgasm through another epic level up experience with dat combat, hnnrgh.

The only MMOs worth considering at the moment are in my opinion:

WildStar - It's new, it's a little fresh

WoW - Say what you want about it. It's polished, it's mature, it works.

Guild Wars 2 - Pretty to look at, little more friendly if you play more casually (Although the others are okay for that too) It's not STRICTLY a traditional MMORPG however.

I got to about the third day of my 7 day Wildstar trial. Tried a few different classes. I love to quest and explore but wildstar felt boring and uneventful to me. If I don't get hooked after a couple of days, its just not going to happen.

I've played most mmos out there but have only stuck with guild wars and guild wars 2 for any decent length of time. GW2 from start to current. Its got a little boring now but with content being updated all the time it keeps me occupied.

Alloids was quite fun until my 'extra power' ran out and my toon became next to usless unless I paid for another boost.

The only main stream mmo I didn't play was Tera, that's only because I couldn't get it to work.

The Secret World was a lot of fun, but I stopped playing for some reason and it would have taken me too long to learn the ropes again. Its a mmo to really get into and spend a heck of a lot of time building toons.

Neverwinter was another fun one. I even put some real cash into that one.

Nothing will ever beat neverwinter nights pw's, although not a proper mmo, it was by far the best mmo out there. None of this namby pamby crap. When you die in nwn you would end up loosing xp and levels, which you just spent weeks getting. No game have I ever put as much care into a toon as with nwn, you had to know the ins and outs and your capabilities because dying was not an option! I still play it now and again, but its such a pain to get working. Every class had its vital uses and was as important as the next.

Archeage is what I'm waiting for. Unfortunately pretty pricey for an alpha. Had a blast on the russian servers though and it feels really good. Will wait for beta.

Pretty sure it's going to be the next MMO I spend a considerable amount of time playing.

Must admit that Archeage certainly curve-balled me, the missus and I both got alpha accounts and its pretty much all we have played ever since. There is just SO much to do in the game and it has an abundance of game features which other MMOs simply don't have. Certainly if open /semi-open PvP mmos are your thing, Archeage is one you should have an eye on.

I had forgotten about Archeage, I've just signed up for the Beta thanks.

Im also waiting for Kingdom Under Fire 2, which i used a proxy to play on the singapore closed beta. For a game being marketed in asia all the cinematics and UI are in English with their language subtitles?

Star Trek Online?

It's F2P and unlike some F2P games, you really don't have to part with any cash to progress through the game.

It's the only MMO that I've actually reach the End Game. The expansions are also free.

It's a great MMO and the space battles can be pretty cool.

You know, I completely forgot about STO. What's the level cap? How long did it take you to reach the End Game?

As a avid gamer and a fan of the mmo genre I wondered what's about and what I should try?

I wanted to play blade and soul but alas not out here and I don't fancy reading foreign subtitles.

So any fellow geeks here??

Cant wait for blade and soul

guild wars 2 - despite all the people saying its empty theyre wrong, worth a try

I would also give Diablo 3 RoS a try

I didnt mind Tera although the acting isnt great and there a lot of reading involved as they dont talk the quests! how lazy. :P

I've played almost every major title in last 10 years and some minor ones.
Bored with the genre, every new game claims it brings something new, then it turns out it's 'same old, just painted in shiny colors'.
Playing Mechwarrior Online and some very old dos games right now.
Waiting for Star Citizen and ArcheAge ( those boobies, omigosh ).

I notice you neglected to mention the ground combat. ;)

If you have't played WOW then you should. Its a very mature game, a tonne of lore and well polished. All other MMOs feel like just a less well done copy of it.

Give it a go

WoW is a very Marmite game. and I am on the hating side of it sadly. Just couldn't get into it. Not because its crap, but because I found it dull and repetitive. It's really down to personal taste, worth a try if they are stil giving away free trials to see if its really for you

I'm very happy with GW2, and being B2P means you don't feel you have to play like with sub-based games, and it doesn't impede progression with pay-walls like many F2P games do.

I felt GW2 could have been something great, but the lack of defined roles in groups made dungeons etc feel like a clusterf*ck.

I didn't feel there really was any end game other than WvW, but I didn't exactly look closely, what progression is there to go for in the game?
