Moana (live-action)

Oh just go and poke your head into the Little Mermaid thread, Marvel “refocus” thread, or I dunno the Scooby Do thread. If you want a laugh that is. I was merely being facetious, I’m not sure how the anti-woke brigade would start hating on this, but I’m sure they’ll find a way :D

My other half isn’t a fan of animation but perhaps I’ll give the original a whirl at some point.

Feels like you're doing the very thing you're accusing others of to me, maybe misreading.

I think they might be just trying to get the remake in while Dwayne Johnson is young enough to still be able to do it.

Thats my take on this too.

There's nothing for the people who live in Scam's head to complain about with this so I can't see there being much if any Right Wing Conspiracy™ backlash for Scam to froth about, no matter how much they need it to be real.

Ace. I love Moana (finally a story where some princess isn't desperate for love of her shining prince) and was probably one of my favourite recent Disney films until Encanto recently.

No, I'm not hating on anything. Just saying you can bet your behind that because this is a Disney live action remake, then others will find something to froth about. It was a joke, because Moana (from my quick Googling) is roughly of Polynesian descent (and not white) therefore it'd be tough for those on the bandwagon to start calling it blackwashing, or race-reversing or whatever they call it when the casting is announced.

Back on topic; I think your note is probably true re. Dwayne Johnson. Although it seems like the sort of role he could do when a bit older and muscles have turned to flab? :p
