All,

My company's looking into giving our on-the-road inspectors a PDA Tablet sort of machine for data entry. Unfortunately I have no idea what sort of machine we're going to need to look into, so was hoping someone here would have an idea! The only requirements I know of so far are:

*Must use Windows Mobile 5
*Must have either an in-built or attachable GPS (preferably in-built)
*Preferably have a physical keyboard (full or mini-size, just not an on-screen keyboard)
*Be very rugged (still work if dropped from a few feet)

The machine needs to be bigger than a phone, but smaller than a Panasonic Toughbook (a smallish laptop) - so a tablet of some sort!

Hopefully someone here has one at work!

Cheers,

IBM X60 / tablet variant?

you'd have to use the pcmcia slot for GPS but that would be doable.

They are well built but I wouldn't like exerting them to excessive force. If you have wads of cash to blow you could buy a SSD disk drive to replace the conventional mechanical disk.
