Sorry if this has been posted, and i have tried to problem solve this on my own, but i've not got very far...

i've changed from mobile me -> iCloud [i didn't have much choice...]

now, am i being dumb or has the "idisk" feature gone?

i used to work on the idisk on my macbook desktop - saving files merrily in office etc. and then open them on my work computer by browsing the sync'd idisk on there.... can you still do this, albeit in a different way or has apple done away with this?

seems to me you can only use iWork and backup now?

sorry if this is a repeat post or i'm being dumb.

Dan.

Correct.

I would move over to some other solution. Something like Google Drive, Microsoft Sky Drive, Dropbox or any other cloud storage.

seriously???!

the sons of female dogs.....

that was one of the only real reasons i was using mobile me... it was dead easy to save to one drive, sync and then open the files on another computer...

every other feature was dog toffee..... cheers for that. i'll sort something else out now... that really is a kick in the shorts. :(

I was/am in the same boat as you... I now use drop box and it is just as easy. Okay you don't get as much storage but it is free...

P.s. You best move your things fast! The end of MobileMe is very near!!!

The main thing that annoyed me about iCloud was the demise of the Gallery as I used that extensively - I now use flickr so its not too bad at all.

Skydrive user here, like the fact its 'client' is detected by OSX as a disc drive in finder, making drag and dropping of files or opening from, really simple.

Really don't know why you are so bothered by it. All of Apple's previous offerings have been poor, iCloud is the first time they have really got it right!

Dropbox really is the way to go in terms of reliability and features. You get LAN sync, which can of course save plenty of bandwidth, and you also have the ability to recover deleted files online if anything goes wrong. You don't get a huge amount of storage though, so you may want to look at alternatives such as Google Drive and Sugarsync.

Worth mentioning at this point that Dropbox's auto-proxy feature doesn't work, and they don't seem to be looking to do anything about it. Just a heads-up if you work behind a proxy a lot (I'm putting up with it because the other features are important to me; LAN sync in particular as I have a very poor connection).

Are you using the client or the built in connector?

Have you heard of the 'ForkLift' app ? awesome.

Ill be honest, i have no idea :p i just downloaded the software from the skydive website and it shows up in finder on my machine at Uni, my laptop and my home Mac.

If i put a file in .. it shows up on all the others.
