I've just had about 7 or 8 missed calls in a row on my mobile from a mobile number which starts +27 (south africa)

Obviously a scam or something, is there any way i can block the number?

cheers
Kieran

:D

i did pick up but it was just a load of background noise, no one said anything.

And as for "Why's it obviously a scam?" what else would it be :) i dont know anyone in South Africa.

It could be a wrong number or someone you used to know has now moved to south africa and is trying to tell you.

pick it up and leave it off... that'll run up a nice bill for the person on the other end, just make sure it's not a reverse charge call...

When did this happen m8? Ive had the same thing happen to me but on the 3rd of this month... but I really cant figure out how because nobody gets at my phone and I didnt know the number so I ignored it. In total there was 15missed calls and about 8 text messages that got progessivley more rude and then it stopped. hasnt happend since.

EDIT: since then I keep bluetooth turned off, im assuming I was blusnarfed or bluejacked

I get this all the time, spoke to o2 and they said that (in my case) the number was premium rate and was probably trying to get me to ring back out of curiosity or something!

Could be totally different situation but just my experience :)

i had this problem last year started off with a normal text which i dint answer and like you said the got rude, then lots of phone calls again which i didnt answer. i did text back once saying that they had got the wrong number but that didnt stop it. in the end i phoned orange to get tehm to block the number which they couldnt do so they gave me a new one

Dear goodness. HELP ME OCUK, MY PHONE IS RINGING, WHAT DO I DO?

Answer the bloody thing, find out who it is. If it's a wrong number they'll stop calling. If it's a scam, tell them to do one and then inform your phone company. If it's someone you know, then all is well.
