a few years ago it was a very regular occurrence to see them in Essex, usually in locations they would repeatedly use but at various times.

They still are through Essex At least in and around Chelmsford they are. But Essex Police more recently having been aiming at larger sting operations recently and basically setup on all major roads in and out of towns and do random pulls etc. @EssexPolice on twitter

I see them regularly, all over the U.K.
If anything, I seem to notice more, not less.....

Don't notice too many of these nowadays, they are still around though from time to time.

Loads in my area and always in the same places. Generally motorway flyovers. There's one sat on the flyover near Glenbervie house on the M876 nearly every day.
