I am thinking about ordering a mobile from mobiles.co.uk, but the following is added to the order:

Gadget Helpline - first month FREE, cancel at any time, £20.16 for 6 months.
PhoneCare Insurance - first month FREE, cancel at any time, £7.99/month.

I don't want either. If I go through with it, how do I cancel them? Is it straight forward?

Just cancel the Direct Debit with your bank.

Yes, its easy to cancel, you wont get any hassle.

I had the same with dailaphone.co.uk very easy. You just ring up phone insurance company and fob them off with some excuse like it is covered on my house insurance to make them shut up and it will be cancelled

With the Gadget Helpline this can be cancelled on their website. You will get a reference number in your welcome pack from mobiles.co.uk, enter it in the website and click cancel.

Read thier T&C's, but to be honest I wouldn't order from them if they wouldn't let you opt-out before you part with your money.

Got the same thing with e2save (Carphone Warhouse's merchant, I think).

It was relatively easy to cancel, I've got an account details for the insurance to log in on their website (some external provider) and cancel from there and the gadget helpline could be cancelled by cancelling the DD on my bank acc.

Make sure you read the T&C though.

i guess its how they get the commision, so they can do better prices than other places, i had no problems with them tbh.
