Since im selling a few things to make some extra cash, I'll be looking for a new CPU/Mobo/GFX to go in one of my older machines.
Do these look like a good choice considering my budget of around £240?

Cheers.

well cpu cooler - no, but i'll sort that out no problem. I have 2gig of DDR800 memory spare to use.

edit. actually, the CPU comes with the stock cooler, so that will do for the time being. I'll sort out a better cooler for overclocking, when I get some more cash in the future. Thats another question I wanted to ask too: Will that board be ok for some overclocking?

For future upgrades i would be tempted to go down the AMD route but if you want to carry on down the LGA775 route this is what i would do.

Shop around for a Pentium Dual core E6300 2.8Ghz with 2mb L2 cache. They can be had for less than £60 and are still 45nm Wolfdale cores. They are good clockers and i have one running at 4Ghz. Swap the motherboard for the EP31-DS3L which is a fantastic clocker and is only a fiver more. Swap the GPU to a ATI 4870 which is faster and only a little more expensive than the GTS250.

Funnily enough, the cpu in the system i sold, was an E6300, but it was one of the old Allendale ones. Awesome cpu, ran every game I threw at it.

I was leaning more towards the E7500 because of the extra cache, which is essencially what I would prefer to have for gaming and whatnot. I will however, take your advice and go for the EP31 instead since you say its great for overclocking.
As for the graphics card. Well, I havnt had a good history with ATI cards, and while the 4870 may be a little better, I might very well stick with the GTS250 just to put my mind at ease.
