Its slower, but you need a better board for that better FX cpu,

You will find that most of these boards are limited to 2000MHz RAM, so it will just run at a slower speed.
FX CPUs do not benefit from fast RAM like Haswell or APUs do.
Here are two with flashy LEDs on them,

well if its just downgrade to 2000 i dont mind losing say 400mhz over having 1600
Im not even sure if it does the downgrade automatically.
Usually you just go into the memory section of the BIOS, apply the XMP profile (which reads the RAM data on speed+timings) and save+exit and that is the RAM running at the correct speed.
