can`t remember
Hi, i am looking for a good DDR2 Micro ATX Mobo, not for overclocking, and that i can use my existing P4 3.4Ghz Hyperthreading CPU in.Also i would like to know which memory (2Gig) is a good compatible choice,Its for an upgraded system i will be giving to my Brother, who uses Photoshop a lot,but also loves his games.I am hoping to spend around £350 for the Mobo/Memory,less if it`s possible :p . The rest of the system consists of,

ATI X1900XT 512Mb
Akasa 460 Watt PSU
Western Digital Caviar 250 Gig
Samsung Spinpoint 250 Gig

I want to get the Mobo and Memory from Overclockers site.Any advice would be great. Thanks guys.

Oh and this system won`t be getting upgraded to a Conroe System, that`s why i`m giving him this system. The Conroe based system is my project for next year.

The socket is LGA775.
Actually yellowbeard you might be able to solve the original query, and could save me having to upgrade the Mobo, i asked in the Memory thread but no one was sure about an answer.I have an Asus PTGD1-LA board that originally was in a Compaq SR1180UK PC, i`m wanting to upgrade the Memory to 2 gig from 1 gig, and give the system to my brother,so that i can get on with building my new system, do Corsair do any compatible memory for this board?. If not i`ll go with the new mobo and memory, and your recommendations for those. It`s DDR not DDR2 on the original Asus board by the way. Thanks for the help :)

Paulo, if the bios on the MOBO allows adjustments for memory voltage and timings, you could use our XMS memory. However, if you cannot adjust the voltages and timings for the memory, our Value Select line would be what you need. You should check with the Corsair Memory Configurator after you find out about the bios.

Ok,change of plan for my brothers christmas prezzie, i want to order on monday, so a quick reply would be very much appreciated.I want to get him a MicroATX Mobo, and 2 gig of DDR2 ram,no overclocking will be done on it, and i`m sticking to using this p4 3.4 hyperthreading CPU that i have laying around.I`m using the existing Sata WD Caviar HD, plus i`ve bought him a Samsung Spinpoint for extra storage.I`ve got the PSU (Enermax 500 watt Liberty),and i`m buying him the X1950XT GFX Card. One thing that`s really bugging me about replacing the Mobo, will windows XP have to be re installed?.Or will the fact i`m putting the WD hard drive with everything already on it mean i won`t have to?,if i do need to,that means i`ll have to buy it on CD i guess?.Sorry about all these questions, but i`m lost to be honest.Need some good advice.Budget for the Mobo & Memory £280 if possible.Help !!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely do a clean install of Windows. You can have horrible problems migrating an install. If you need to, save data ahead of time. And, the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard is pretty cool too.

Thanks, what do you think on the mobo and memory Yellowbeard, i tried your suggestion with the Bios, waste of time!.So recommendations please mate,Corsair memory obviously :D
