Wanting to find out if anyone has done, or has experience with painting the north-bridge heat sync on a motherboard before? Reason for asking is that im looking at potentially purchasing a gigabyte UD5H Z77X but my build is predominantly black and green (and no, i cant afford an assassin!) is it safe to do this and if so, what type of paint would be best suited as obv the heat sync dissipates a lot of heat off the board

Painting may invalidate the warranty.

Is it worth it?

to me, it may be as i really like to pay attention to detail when making a build, both aesthetically and the hardware itself, if i may also ask, which would you go with, Z68-UD4H or Z77-UD5H, my plans are around a 2600k probs running at 4.6GHz off a water cooled loop

one other plan i may consider is water cooling the motherboard itself, therefore the colour of the heat synk's wont matter much as i can mask them with the water blocks
