that be quiet dark rock one looks decent but the reviews i've read make it seem to be a total bitca to install. hold the cooler on the mobo and screw it in from underneath the motherboard??

Only an issue if the motherboard tray doesn't have a hole in it. I'm having trouble envisioning the kind of table you'd want to assemble the thing on though...

wait a min. is it the stand you have to attach that way, or the heatsink itself? if it's the stand (that you screw the heatsink onto) then ok, but if it's the heatsink then it's crazy no? i mean you'd have to balance the motherboard just right otherwise it would tilt and possibly allow an air bubble into the thermal paste?

Hmm... according to this it's merely a matter of putting it all together upside-down before bolting the resulting mass into the chassis. To call it 'awkward' is a gross understatement.

As I understand it the 'sink makes for a more stable base from which to work.
